The Pursuit

Does anyone ever go through life without worrying? I know, pretty ridiculous question. It’s amazing how much time we spend in our life time worrying. Now I do realize we have some legitimate situations, but so very little do we ever just stop and call on God for help. It’s been a time of learning in these past few months for me in my life. With everything going on from wedding plans, to looking for living spaces, to doing God’s work. As me and my Fiancé say, “We’re Adulting”. It hasn’t been all bad either, it’s been a great and exciting time for us. But we do have those times of stress and worry. It would consume us like fire and really affect our relationship with each other, and with our God.

One morning, I was reading my devotion and really just asking God for help. Let me tell you, my God has never failed me when I’ve asked for his guidance. He showed me a scripture in my devotion that morning. “So then, don’t worry saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For the unconverted pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.”(Matthew 6:31-34) I should be used to being slapped by the Holy Spirit, but this one was memorable. All God ever wants from his children, is for us to trust in him and believe that he will provide for us.

This is something that I will work into my life and marriage. It’s been a true blessing, not only knowing, but seeing God provide for us time and time again. I hope that you would join me in this time of learning. Pursue his kingdom, and watch our God work.
