Do You Hear That?

Last Wednesday morning I left from the house with kids in the car on my way to drop them off at school. As we started out I noticed a noise. So I did what anyone would do… I turned up the radio. The closer we got to the school the louder it seemed. It was incredibly annoying. Then I hit a speed bump at the school and it stopped. Ah… silence.

As I pulled away from the school I started to wonder, is this how we treat the voice of God?  Is it just a noise that we try to cover up and pretend isn’t there?  As it gets louder, do we embrace it or get annoyed by it?  What happens when we hit life’s speed bumps?
This week we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  He died as a perfect sacrifice on our behalf so that we could be reconnected to God.  He didn’t do all this just to be quiet.  There are some things that we need to hear from him.  So today, if you would hear his voice, do not harden your hearts (Psalm 95:7-8) because the speed bumps are coming and I want us all to say, “Ah… the voice of the Lord.”

In Him,
