Jesus and Politics

Over the years I have seen our political environment continue to deteriorate.  One side stands for what they believe to be right only to be attacked by the other side.  May times this leads to justifying negative tactics on both sides because the other side started it.  Then we include the influence of media and social media and we have the firestorm in which we now sit.

Side note: the Annual Business Meeting for HFC will be Wednesday, November 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.  We won’t have great media coverage but it will still be an exciting hour.  The only firestorm will be that we aren’t doing the Chili Cook-off this year because of COVID.   Sorry, not sorry.

So what can we do as followers of Jesus Christ to be kingdom-minded in our politically charged culture?  I think there is a lot we can do and I think the church should talk about it.  “Jesus and Politics” will be Saturday, October 24th from 1:00-4:00 p.m.  This will be a very interactive discussion on our current political climate and how we as Jesus-people can respond to it.  I hope that you will join me so that together we can continue to learn how to be disciples that make disciples no matter what month it is.

In Him,
Pastor Tim.
