Let Us Worship Him

“A certain immortal woman from that city heard HE was eating there, she brought a beautiful alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume. Then she knelt behind HIM at HIS feet weeping. Her tears fell on HIS feet, and she wiped them off with her hair. Then she kept kissing HIS feet and putting perfume on them.” (Luke 7:37-38).
This woman could have been anywhere else but she heard Jesus was in town. The perfume was probably the most expensive thing she owned and she used it to anoint Jesus. There was something being born inside of her. She had found a love that rescues, a love that heals, a love that gave eternal life. So she couldn’t stop giving thanks with each kiss and filling the room with the fragrance of her new love. We should be doing the same as this woman; pouring out worship as a beautiful fragrance because He deserves it. At His feet is where we should be, giving thanks for rescuing us, for liberating us, and for forgiving us. Jesus said in verse 47 “I tell you, her sins and they are many have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.” He paid our debt just like hers. Jesus forgave them all so we should love much not little. Don’t get tired of giving thanks. Don’t ever stop praising Him. But desire to know Him more, be intimate with Him, to be holy like He is holy.
