Let Us be Grateful

Hebrews 12:27-29 Says, “This phrase, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of things that are shaken—that is, things that have been made—in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

Thanksgiving was last week, and there are so many things I am thankful for; wonderful family and friends, a great job, God’s provision of my home and finances, and the list could go on and on. But one thing I didn’t think of was ‘receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken‘. Wow! Think about that for a minute. Let it really sink in. We experience the shaking of this world, but we must not falter in our faith because God has given us an unshakable kingdom. That requires a great deal of thanks, or to be more specific, ‘acceptable worship, with reverence and awe‘. May we take a moment this week, after the big meals, late nights, Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, to remember what is truly important, those things that cannot be shaken. Thank God for this special gift and ‘let us be grateful‘!

Many blessings,
Pastor Sarah
