Thank You (from Ryan Morris)

At the beginning of this year, God led me to a passage in Exodus 14. The Egyptians were chasing the Israelites, and death was impending. They were scared and angry with Moses and God, but Moses told them:
“Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Ex. 14:13, 14
At the start of 2015 this passage meant a lot to me while Pastor Don was leaving. At that time, I did not realize how much these verses would mean to me as the year chugged along. It has been a hard year for our congregation, but we have seen the Lord fight for us. We have seen the Lord deliver us from what seemed like hopeless situations. At the end of this year, let us take a moment (maybe even two) to thank God and praise Him for being faithful through 2015.
He is a Good Father. He is constant. He is worthy of all praise. Amen.
As I think about not only this past year, but the past 3+ years, I am amazed at all that God has done through my time at HFCOG. He has grown and challenged me in many different ways. I praise Him for all He has done; and I want to thank each of you for all you have done for my family and me. This congregation was so patient with me as I grew in my abilities to lead in song on Sunday mornings. This congregation has been so encouraging and supportive through good and bad times. This congregation has been beyond generous to my family and me. Thank you! You will hold a special place in our hearts.
It has been a privilege to lead and serve alongside each one of you. Continue to be God’s hands and feet to this dark world. Continue to seek after His heart. I am excited to see where God directs this congregation next through Pastor Tim’s leadership. May God’s blessings overwhelm this congregation in 2016!
“May the Lord watch between you and me, while we’re absent from one another. Amen.”
